Accentuate in bronze - Even during winter
BACK TO OVERVIEWSporty rims for sporty cars: Marina Bay and Suzuka in depth For those driving powerful models like the VW Golf GTI or BMW 335i, standing out from the crowd is a given. Expressive, sporty wheels complete the look, with the choice of rim design being a matter of individual taste. Just as GTI drivers appreciate the front-wheel drive of the compact model, fans of the BMW 3 Series love the traditional rear-wheel drive. DOTZ offers a wide range of cool designs for distinctive personalities, such as the MarinaBay bronze or the Suzuka bronze. While both designs are united by colour, performance, and quality, each takes its own unique approach to sporty design.
Five distinctive spokes for the Golf 7
The DOTZ MarinaBay bronze impresses with its straightforward and open design. Its five distinctive spokes allow a direct view of the brakes on the seventh-generation Golf GTI. The drilled discs with red callipers are especially striking on the front axle.
Volkswagen offered the compact GTI VII sports car from 2013 to 2019 with various performance levels of the 2.0-litre turbo engine, ranging from 220 hp to 310 hp in the special “Clubsport S” model. The GTI’s design is accentuated by body accessories such as side skirts and dual exhaust pipes at the rear.
BMW 3 Series coupé with motorsport charm
Equally sporty yet with its own unique character, the BMW 3 Series coupé (E92) captivates its fans. Built from 2006 to 2010, it carries the design signature of then BMW chief designer Chris Bangle, and its angular lines continue to make it a head-turner today. Well-maintained examples of the sleek Bavarian, delivering 306 hp as a 335i with a 3.0-litre inline-six, are highly sought after.
The DOTZ Suzuka is a staple rim that makes a striking impression with its compact, deep centre and sleek, angular Y-spokes. On the 3 Series coupé, it’s a nod to BMW’s motorsport successes. Due to the popularity of the Suzuka, DOTZ has added a bronze colour variant.
Defy winter with DOTZ
Those currently seeking the right wheels for a winter tyre set can add a touch of bronze to the often-drab greys of the cold season with DOTZ rims such as MarinaBay or Suzuka. To the frequent question of how the refined rim surface withstands ice, snow, salt, or gravel, there is a simple answer: effortlessly.
Thanks to the innovative SRC (Salt & Sun Resistant Coating), which provides a hard, corrosion-resistant surface, a tough winter is no problem. Nowadays, there’s no need to give your beloved vehicle the utilitarian look of steel rims. Neither size nor width need be sacrificed with modern winter tyres – you can have the wheels you really want.
Practical wheel changing tips
Before fitting the winter wheels of your choice, the summer wheels should be thoroughly cleaned, marked for position, and stored in a cool, dry, and dark space, either hung up or stacked. Neither rims nor tyres should come into contact with chemicals, oils, greases, petrol, or paint.
Important: Before remounting in the following spring, the tyres’ condition should be carefully checked (tread depth, potential damage, or significant pressure loss in any tyre compared to the others). For the winter-mounted wheels, it’s recommended to increase the prescribed tyre pressure (measured cold) by 0.2 bar.
MarinaBay and Suzuka available for many passenger cars
The DOTZ MarinaBay in sizes from 8.5x18 to 10x21 inches is the ideal wheel for mid- and upper-mid-range cars like the Audi A3, A4, A6, BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, VW Golf, Cupra Formentor, Tesla 3/Y/S, and many others. The Suzuka is available in sizes from 18 to 20 inches with a VTA certification. How each wheel would look on one’s vehicle can be viewed in the DOTZ 3D configurator, which is easy to use. Along with the MarinaBay and Suzuka in bronze, all available colours can be “tried on”. This, of course, includes the many other attractive wheel models from DOTZ.
