Extravagant colour, harmonious details, and an aggressive sound. This is quite an apt description of our Team Rider Benjamin's flamboyant BMW F36. No matter where his BMW is parked or which exhibition or event it graces with its presence, it's always a crowd puller. Our DOTZ Tanaka rounds off the sporty look perfectly.

The common passion for cars, many exciting variations, ideas, and the many possibilities of creating a signature look for one’s own car – this is what the DOTZ community is all about.

Why not connect with us via Facebook or Instagram where you can share your pics and experiences and at the same time get fresh input from like-minded folks. Today, we’re introducing our DOTZ Team Rider Benjamin who is kicking things off with our DOTZ Tanaka.

Benjamin Koss

• Car: BMW 430D F36 2015 model, sport trim

Tuning is pure passion for Benjamin – a fascination that has been with him for a long time in his life. As an outspoken BMW fan, he has never driven a different brand and also works at BMW in Dingolfing/Lower Bavaria.

When it comes to modifying his car, the sky is the limit. There simply are no boundaries, which makes this hobby super exciting.

Standing out instead of in the corner: Benjamin’s F36 sparkles in an Omega Skinz complete car wrapping in green with Gold Flex thanks to Engel Wrap. As a special highlight, the roof is wrapped in glossy black.

Benjamin mounted a PERL front splitter, wing extensions and rear details made of carbon in glossy black, which – teamed up with the DOTZ Tanaka dark – makes for a sporty-aggressive look. The red M Performance 18″ braking system creates some more dynamic accentuations, just like the rear modification for a 440i look, and the M4 CS mirror and rear lights. The M4 GTS rear wing is another eye-catcher.

The 3D effect in the DOTZ Tanaka, which is created by ten prominently recessed spoke ends, really comes into its own when combined with Benjamin’s highly individual modifications. For the Tanaka to keep on sparkling, Benjamin had them glass-coated by MB Polish.

The enhancement to 320PS/660NM, done by Obermaier Motorsport, brings about the very special driving experience. Additional changes for more top speed: open VMAX, deactivated EGR, and an installed Wagner intercooler. Bonus: the F36 is fully TÜV-approved, which is largely owed to F-Kustom who have also provided airlift air suspension with 3/8″ and 3P control. In our book, that’s great!

Benjamin didn’t stop at that, implementing numerous ideas in the car interior as well, with much love for detail such as, for example, a red start button or a red 12 o’clock marking on the flattened steering wheel. Porsche punched leather and Alcantara give off a super sporty touch.

Not to forget: For a premium cabin look, the interior trims from Herb Interio were upholstered with Alcantara and furnished with an M Performance imprint. The Clubsport roll cage, powder-coated in gold, blends in perfectly with the sophisticated colour concept, and the rest of the interior also shows how much of one’s personality can go into a car.

What’s highly practical is that the Clubsport roll cage from Bavarian.Car.Tuning is easy to mount using Isofix and just as easy to remove, like the number plates that are held in place by Werk 2 magnets, not losing any of their grip even at top speeds on the German Autobahn. With its black carpets in white stitches from Diamond Car Mats, the car “floor” gives off a certain oomph.
