With sinking temperatures, the time has come for you to change your car to winter tyres. DOTZ makes sure that with the right winter-proof rims you will be able to drive through the cold season with style and without any damage.

Winterproof design rims

There is a persistent rumour that design wheels should not be used in winter - why? With light alloy wheels from DOTZ, drivers are always perfectly styled on the road. The high quality and innovative SRC-painting strengthens the "natural defences" of the wheel against road salt and small scratches and at the same time ensures that the rims will still look great after many years.

SRC lacquering. The DOTZ formula

The name stands for "Salt Resistant" while the letter C refers to the sealing layer (coating) - primer layer, paint layer, top or sealing layer. The primer for each rim is always an ultra resistant powder coating in black or light grey, which is applied electrostatically and then "baked" at 210 degrees for 45 minutes. A modern wet paint is then applied as the actual "colour carrier", which requires a further 40 minutes drying time at 180 degrees. Finally, as a transparent sealant and first barrier against environmental influences, up to two high-quality, ultra-solid clear coats follow.

The trend in winter rims.

Front-polished rims are often wrongly defined as typical summer rims and therefore spotted seldomly on the roads during winter months. For some time now, however, we have been observing a trend reversal. Light alloy rims, specified by experts as “diamond cut”, are rims with a dark finish lathed in some areas using diamond cutting tools, which reveals the bare aluminium. This technique emphasizes the rim design, providing every car with extra elegance. Thanks to the DOTZ winter formula SRC, no problem

Rock-solid

In order to check if the layers of paint firmly adhere to the surface, the standard cross-cut test is run next. The surface is cut six times down to the base, forming parallel lines crossed at a right angle by another six. Now the surface is repeatedly coated with a brush, with as little flaking as possible. In order to ensure that all the wheels of a series meet the high SRC quality standards attained in those tests, every single product is visually inspected and the layers are measured: Better safe than sorry, and “Salt Resistant” for the lifetime of a wheel.
