DOTZ at the Tuning World Bodensee
BACK TO OVERVIEWFor four fantastic days, the exhibition grounds at Lake Constance once again became the focal point of the international tuning scene. 109 500 visitors celebrated an automotive festival for all the senses, where car tuning, lifestyle, a vibrant club scene, and the love for extraordinary vehicles took centre stage. We were right in the midst of it all with our breathtaking BMW M8 Competition and the speedy DOTZ MarinaBay.
Spotlight on USA and Japan
Under the motto “See, smell, hear, taste, and touch” visitors gathered at the huge indoor and outdoor festival, which this year boasted a few new program highlights.
The organizers’ goal to “allow the audience to escape into a different world and break away from their everyday lives” was unquestionably achieved, also by taking a leap across the “big pond”: “Born in the USA” was the theme in Hall B3, where one could admire plenty of American gems from the Dodge Challenger to the Ford Mustang. And fans of Japanese automotive treasures also got their fill in a hall dedicated to vehicles from the Far East.
Show & Shine, action and performance
The immense popularity of the Tuning World Bodensee also stems from the event’s enormous variety, which once again occupied the entire exhibition grounds this year. Because alongside countless automotive delights for the eyes, from which many fans draw inspiration, the TWB also makes a real job of it.
At the beginning of the third season, the AvD Drift Championship on the exhibition grounds will be shown on television for the first time (May 19, 5 p.m. on Sport 1).
One of the many highlights this year was once again the European Tuning Showdown (ETS), where the crème de la crème of the scene gathers. Cars from over twelve nations competed against each other at Europe’s most highly renumerated show & shine competition, showcasing motorsport-inspired wide-body vehicles as well as stylish classics, modern-era classic cars, or current vehicles in the trendy stance look.
The winner gets a set of our wheels. Things really heated up in the motorsport area in Hall A3, where the focus was less on appearance and more on performance tuning for the racetrack or public roads.
DOTZ eye-catchers in the foyer
The exclusive Style Mile also reflected current trends and styles: Fitment and stance were the buzzwords here, with a focus on a perfect symbiosis of suspension with wheel-tyre combinations to achieve a flawless integration of wheel and body.
Like our show car, which many of you could admire in the foyer. With its huge rear wing and exciting appearance, the BMW M8 Competition is certainly an eye-catcher, but the 850-horsepower powerhouse in frozen grey with matte black details received the finishing touch from the DOTZ MarinaBay black, which, mounted in the size 10x21 ET35 on 275/30 R21 tyres, harmonised excellently with the sporty M8 and were further supported by wheel spacers (20 mm).
Community hotspot
Private tuners are the heart of the TWB and have been involved since the beginning. The club area with its unique booth constructions not only shows the attention to detail with which the clubs pursue their hobby. This year’s Beach theme provided a few surprises. Finally, we would like to commend the exciting evening programme, because without it, the TWB wouldn’t be the TWB that it is. This year’s spectacular after-show parties included “Ride & Rave Open Beatz” with renowned DJs and “Sunshine Live – Back to the 90s” with headliner Captain Jack.
To conclude, we want to thank you for visiting our booth – or if you weren’t there – invite you to the next TWB. By the way, on Instagram, you can not only find our story from this year’s TWB. We are also present at many other events and would happily give you a behind-the-scenes look on Instagram.
