Daniel and Christian closely inspect the Takata safety harness and look for suitable mounting points in the interior of our DD2.JZ. The 6-point safety harness is comprised of the shoulder straps and the crotch strap and is installed directly to the body via mounting plates that have been especially welded on.

The shoulder straps are installed on a steel pipe that has been welded into the previous loudspeaker recess located behind the seats. DD2JZ Episode 035 Image 2 While Daniel welds the additional mounting points in the interior, Christian, equipped with a water sprayer, secures the underfloor against possible inflammation. DD2JZ Episode 035 Image 3 After the mounting points for the safety harness have been completed, the two turn to the previously only provisionally fitted safety cage and now secure it to the body.
