A distinctive look
BACK TO OVERVIEWIn this episode, Dominic and Christian take the carpet to task, re-installing it under rough conditions into the interior space of our DD2.JZ. With our design, we aim to build a racetrack-suitable show car. The combination of roll cage and original carpet brings us closer to this wish by a huge step...
Christian starts by fixing loose parts. One of them is the module for the previously installed electric seat adjustment which is no longer needed. In addition, all cable lines are bundled neatly in an effort to make the carpeting as smooth a process as possible. The duo begins with the carpet section that needs to be installed on the passenger side, adjusting it to the new conditions by using a carpet knife.
In the tightest of spaces Christian and Dominic adapt the carpet in the Z4 interior space to the new seatbelt mounting and the roll bar attachments.
After the interior space carpet is installed, the original plastics are mounted. The blend of roll bar and H-belts in connection with a standard carpet and the original interior trim give our DD2.JZ a distinctive look.
