The Fantastic Featuring the Four
BACK TO OVERVIEWThe DOTZ Sonoma highlights the dynamic driving qualities of the BMW Z4 and Audi RS4. Both cars feature a "4" in their names, and both are true sports companions - albeit in completely different ways.
The BMW Z4 combines the high driving dynamics of a roadster with the open-air fun of a convertible. In contrast, the Audi RS4 merges the spaciousness and everyday practicality of an estate car with the performance of a sports car. Each concept has its own unique charm.
However, the DOTZ Sonoma perfectly complements both models. Neither these cars nor the wheel can deny their motorsport heritage. Available in the colour variants "dark" and "bronze", the Sonoma is the first ECE-certified design created using flowforged technology.
This innovative manufacturing process brings both technical and visual benefits.
V-spokes with an impressive 3D effect
The BMW Z4's design conveys depth and sophistication. The DOTZ Sonoma bronze seamlessly aligns with this design language. With its asymmetrically designed V-spokes, it creates an impressive 3D effect, striking a perfect balance between dynamism and stability. This also complements the Audi RS4 brilliantly.
Its wheel arches are 30 millimetres wider than those of an A4, drawing attention effortlessly. Our featured model proudly sports the DOTZ Sonoma in a bold 9.5×20 size, fitted with 255/30R20 tyres. In the “dark” colour variation, the wheel appears more understated – a striking combination that blends effortlessly into the overall look.
Flowforged technology boosts driving dynamics
In any case, the open, aggressive appearance of the wheel provides a direct view of the braking systems – an area where neither BMW nor Audi needs to shy away.
The flowforged technology maximises material density, reducing the thickness of the rim well to just 3.4 millimetres. This saves up to 800 grams of aluminium per wheel, enhancing driving dynamics. The aero ring featuring an undercut and the open-spoke design give the DOTZ Sonoma an agile, lightweight look.
BMW offers the Z4 with three engine options
The BMW Z4 is available in three performance levels. The 2.0-litre engine of the entry-level sDrive20i produces 197 horsepower. The sDrive30i, using the same engine capacity, delivers 258 horsepower. Topping the Z4 range is the M40, generating 340 horsepower from its 3.0-litre engine.
The sporty yet chic interior of the Z4 features the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which relies on intuitive voice control and touchscreen operation. An optional Harman Kardon surround sound system with seven channels and twelve speakers completes the package.
Audi with biturbo and up to 470 horsepower
The Audi RS4’s sporty character continues in its interior. The RS sport steering wheel with aluminium shift paddles makes it clear that this car is built for more than just daily use. A 10.1-inch touchscreen display and voice control simplify operation. The Audi Virtual Cockpit is fully digital and impresses with RS-specific displays and a head-up display.
For the last RS4 generation built from 2017 to 2024, Audi kept things simple under the bonnet: a 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine produces 450 horsepower and 600 Newton metres of torque. In the limited “Edition 25 Years” model, only 250 units were produced, boosting power to even 470 horsepower.
The DOTZ Sonoma fits numerous models
The DOTZ Sonoma also enhances a wide range of compact and mid-size cars. It is available in sizes from 8×19" to 9.5×20".
The ECE certifications apply to passenger cars such as the Audi A3, A5, A6, A7, and Q3; BMW 2 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, and X1; Cupra Formentor; Seat Tarraco; Skoda Kodiaq and Superb; Smart #1; Tesla Model Y; and VW Passat, Tiguan, and T-Roc. Many additional fitments are possible with VTA approvals.
