Rim cleaning
BACK TO OVERVIEWA good result requires lending a hand. Rims are by far the most visible accessory on every car. Quite a few consider rims the footwear of cars. Reasons enough to take a closer look at cleaning rims and the entire car.

Stay clean!
When washing a car, you must, above all, go easy on the paint and try not to damage it in any way. Mind the following important rules:
- For precleaning the paint surface, make sure to use an active cleaning foam (also known as snow foam) or other special precleaning agents and a pressure washer.
- The washing mitt must always be saturated with plenty of cleaning agent and water. If the washing procedure is too “dry”, dirt particles will be pulled across the paint, resulting in scratches.
- We recommend using a high-quality car shampoo because it will enhance the gliding properties of the wash mitt.
- After every section the wash mitt should be rinsed.
- What applies to car paint also applies to rims!
The right rim care needs a touch
It’s important that rims are cleaned regularly to remove brake dust and other dirt. Especially in the cold time of the year, with its stubborn winter road sand and salt, deposits on the rims are a special threat to the surface.
If you ignore the dirt you can expect that, at some point, the aluminium below the dirt will suffer extensively. Due to the generation of heat at the brakes, dirt can virtually burn itself into the surface. In such a case a simple cleaning process won’t be able to remove the dirt. Even the best and most durable paint can’t replace one thing – alloy rim care.
Preparation
- Never use an abrasive sponge or sharp objects to clean rims.
- Never use rim detergents containing acid as they can harm the surface.
- It’s best to first spray the rims at the front axle, which are more prone to collect dirt, and let them soak, and then start the cleaning process from the rear.
Professional cleaning of the rims
1. Spray the rim cleaner Aensõ Isern and let it soak until the well-known colour change occurs.
2. For tough dirt apply the rim cleaner using a brush. Special rim brushes are suitable to clean the rim well inside.
3. After all dirt is removed with the rim cleaner, rinse the wheels thoroughly with clean water. To avoid damages to tyres or rims, make sure to keep a minimum distance of 40-50 cm when cleaning with a pressure washer.
4. To avoid the formation of water marks, dry the surface with a soft microfibre drying cloth. Use separate cloths for rims and paint.
5. Don’t neglect the tyres. We recommend cleaning them with the special cleaner Aensõ Revolve.

For pre-cleaning your car Aensõ recommends the Polaris Snowfoam to clean the paint from as much as dirt as possible before the hand wash. After the pre-wash start the actual car wash. Use the 2-bucket washing method in combination with a high-quality wash mitt.
Add lukewarm water with Aensõ One in one bucket and clear water in another bucket. After every section, clean the wash mitt in clear water from the dirt, because such dirt residues can cause scratches in the paint.
Then, wash the next section with plenty of the shampoo water mixture and repeat the process until the entire car is cleaned from top to bottom.
When the entire car has been cleaned and the shampoo residues rinsed with enough water, Aensõ recommends using a soft micro-fibre cloth for drying.
Once the drying is done it makes sense to protect the paint surface with Aensõ Gleam. In doing so, the quick detailer is sprayed on the paint surface and polished off. This protects the paint, depending on your use and wash habits, for up to eight weeks or longer, gives tremendous smoothness and extreme shine. The rims may, of course, also enjoy a Gleam treatment.
As the finishing touch you can clean your windshields using Aensõ Pureview and soak your tyres in a tyre care product (e.g. Aensõ Orbit) to round off the overall look. The result is impressive and will make many heads turn.
