A nonstop show - the AMTS in Budapest
BACK TO OVERVIEWOnce again, the Hungarian capital became the chosen venue to kick off the tuning season. DOTZ was there to take a good look at AMTS, the countryÃs biggest car show.
Exhibition, competitions, off-road shows and a Gymkhana contest: last weekend’s show in Budapest had something to offer for every aficionado of tasteful chrome on more than 100,000 square metres. The AMTS team is working all year on bringing to the Danube the most beautiful cars from all over Europe. And after 12 years, the show has established a reputation which the owners of such cars like to follow. A striking feature on this year’s exhibition grounds: the density of DOTZ and AEZ rims.
Ferrari built 2,894 units of the 348tb. One of the 295-hp models proved an exhibition highlight.
This Skoda from the 100 Series is slightly older. With its edgy headlights, the extreme lower suspension setting and the Rat style, the old Czech from the 1980s is hardly recognizable.
German tuning company TA Technix has brought a 6 Series BMW E24 to Budapest.
Maybe not quite that refined, but all the more potent were some of the US cars at the exhibition. Among them this Dodge truck from the Nascar series.
A distinguished hot rod was also on display. This model makes heads turn with its wide wheel houses and a shiny eight-cylinder engine.
Easy to see from the aggregate: a 6 Series BMW featuring an inline six.
But even here a six-cylinder is working away below the bonnet: a VR32 with 250 hp and all-wheel drive adorns itself with a couple of Ferrari rims.
