In the seventh episode of our DD2.JZ project, Christian and Daniel had to thwart all their previous plans. They initially thought of using the BMW Z4’s original tank. However, its disadvantageous construction has forced them to find an individual solution.
After lots of tinkering, the two technology freaks came up with the ideal solution and can now start to construct the fuel system for the DD2.JZ.
The specifically developed fuel system is installed in the Z4’s boot. The tank, the two Bosch 044 fuel pumps and all fuel pipes must fit into here. Even the compressor for the air suspension system is supposed to go in there.
After a hard day’s work, all obstacles are overcome. The 2JZ GTE engine can supply fuel to up to roughly 1000 hp. The airlift components have plenty of space, too.
In the next episode, you will see how Daniel and Christian will knock the brake system into shape. Surely, no screw is left unturned on our DD2.JZ…
