Precision work in the interior - The roll cage is here
BACK TO OVERVIEWIn this episode, the freshly delivered Wiechers roll cage is test-positioned into our DD2.JZ. Christian and Daniel want to see how the safety cell fits into the interior space and which adjustments are required to install the Bride bucket seats.
Christian immediately starts to unpack the roll cage. The black, powder-coated pipes are then adjusted to the car design and painted in the car colour.
In the meantime, Daniel arranges the accompanying screws neatly on the workbench in order to have everything handy during the final installation.
The two technicians start to place the many individual parts of the roll cage in our DD2.JZ. Luckily, the manufacturer specifications are correct – the dashboard doesn’t have to be removed for the installation.
Christian takes a look at the points on the floorpan that need to be drilled in order to bolt the roll cage to the body.
After the safety cell has been test-placed into the DD2.JZ interior, Daniel und Christian begin with the necessary adjustments in order to install the Bride bucket seats. In the next episode, this will, once again, call for Daniel’s welding skills.
