Going wheel-crazy

Want to see how different DOTZ wheels would look on your vehicle and which colour variant best suits your taste? It's easy: our 3D rim configurator instantly generates detailed visualisations - and it now works even better on mobile devices.

The DOTZ 3D configurator is a browser-based application. This means no installation is necessary – all you need is an internet connection. We’ve recently revamped the mobile version for smartphones and tablets, making it easier to use and featuring enhanced graphics. The configurator automatically adapts to the size and orientation of the device being used – whether it's a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer – it always looks tailor-made and runs smoothly.

Step by step to your perfect rims

When you start the configurator, the first step is to choose your car brand. You can do this by typing into a free-text field or by selecting from a drop-down menu. Next, you’ll need to find the model and the correct series.

You can enter the year of manufacture as well as the power in PS or kilowatts, which will help narrow down the available models. A model tree with production periods and series abbreviations will then appear, letting you choose the exact vehicle – complete with a preview before you confirm your selection. A list of engine types will follow, and you can select the correct one with a click. The configurator will then load the corresponding vehicle type approval (ABE), so that only rims that are legally approved for your car are shown.

Getting the right angle

Click “Next” and a photorealistic model of your vehicle will load. You can adjust the car’s colour, clearance, and window tint. You can also change the background setting in which you view the car. At this stage, the configurator will show all the wheels and colour variants available for the vehicle, which can be swapped instantly with just a click.

All compatible wheel-tyre combinations are listed, including technical notes – for example, whether a particular size would require modifications to the wheel arch. The photorealistic 3D car model can be rotated 360 degrees, so you can view it from every angle. You can also take as many snapshots as you like by saving image files of your current view.
