Bye-bye 2022!
BACK TO OVERVIEWThis year, once again, many things happened that will always be associated with 2022 including countless beautiful moments as well as small and big highlights, lending an optimistic perspective into the future. We would like to take this opportunity to look back on the past 365 years at DOTZ together with you and for you. Curtains up!
In the two colour variations gunmetal polished (“dark”) and black matte (“black”), the Tanaka, which mostly comes with VTA, rounds off the multi-faceted DOTZ range, and in the dimensions 8x18 to 10x21 inches generally fits cars of the mid-range and upper mid-range. The DOTZ Tanaka is a brand-new design with many asymmetrical features that oozes three-dimensional performance and makes for a true eye-catcher.
And while we’re at it: There were plenty of eye-turners among the many tuned cars and individual automotive gems which we could finally experience live again in 2022. Be it exhibitions, tuning meets, or events, DOTZ was “on tour” again!
We and some of our Team Riders were not just present, we were in the thick of it. And how much we had anticipated seeing all of you car aficionados, gearheads, and classic car lovers again. How great it was to meet you all in person again. Come, let’s look in the rear-view mirror together!
It all kicked off on 8th May with the Low Society 2022 season opening at the legendary Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Action-packed, crazy, and petrol-driven, resulting in new track record times during the first quarter-mile race. It was also great to see many cars donning DOTZ wheels.
At the end of May, Lake Constance beckoned visitors to take part in the mega event revolving around cars, modification, and lifestyle. More than 1,500 show cars and 850 participants from industry, the event segment, and scene gathered in Friedrichshafen for Tuning World. And at Lake Wörther, GTI fans met for a casual get-together instead of the traditional GTI meet, which was again cancelled, to exchange ideas and organise a private car exhibition.
In June, drift and tuning fans got their money’s worth at the Drift Masters Greinbach featuring 50 starters from 22 nations and the SO.GA. at Lake Garda against impressive backdrops. The summer heat rose not only during the July temperatures but also owing to the motorsport and tuning hotspot in Hanover, as the PS Days were marked in everyone’s calendars. The mix of exhibition, show, and workshop always draws many car fans.
Be it the Night of Wheels, Neshforce or the VAU-MAX TuningShow with our DOTZ Team Rider Manuel and his Golf MK7 GTI, or the Car Night Low Society, the passion for beautiful, powerful cars was also quite palpable at all August events. September saw IronCity in Ferropolis with our Team Rider Stefan and his F20 “Hugo” as well as the After Summer Meet with our DOTZ Team Riders Arnold and Benjamin. To round it all off, everybody met at the Essen Motor Show in December where we presented our brand-new 2023 rim designs for the first time, and this much we can say: getting bored is not on the cards.
This year was also exciting for our “€ 10,000 Salmon” which could be admired at all events as well as live at the Pace Museum. The highlight for Falk’s modified Mercedes 190 E in the EVO II look, donning our DOTZ Sepang in white finish as a perfect complement: JP Performance shot a video about the Salmon since Jean Pierre Krämer was fascinated by the detailed modification.
The tuning project was also very popular at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour Germany 2022. With an advantage of nearly 100 votes, the Salmon made it to number one as community favourite. Only after the second round of votes the Salmon landed at second position, just missing the final at the Hot Wheels Legends Tour in the U.S. as well as the chance to have one’s own car manufactured in a 1:64 scale and a spot in the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends.
The passion for detail can be noted not only amongst our fabulous Team Riders but also our great community. So, thank you for an eventful summer, the many impressive pictures, and the mega cool exchange – whether on the spot or online.

If luck was on your side during the pre-Christmas season, you could really take the cream of this year’s DOTZ Advent calendar. Once again, mega prizes were hiding behind the 24 little doors with a total value of several thousand euros.

But let’s get back to the positive outlook into the future: In the new year, two new, exceptional rim designs expand our portfolio. A warm welcome to DOTZ Fuji and DOTZ LongBeach!
The DOTZ Fuji’s extravagant cross-spoke design convinces with a multi-level rim base and a weight-reduced construction. The glossy gold finish looks especially good on this eye-catcher which, in addition to the highlight colour gold, is also available in the variations “dark” and “grey”. The glossy black finish in combination with the polished front makes for even more pizzazz in the wheel well.
As all good things come in threes, this brand-new rim is also available as Fuji grey in a gunmetal finish. No matter what variation makes your heart beat faster, the sporty and detailed design of the DOTZ Fuji in the dimensions from 7.5x18 to 9x20 inches and the new 4-hole fitment in 18 inches is the perfect match for many compact and mid-range car models. VTA and ECE approvals are, of course, included.
The LongBeach’s brand-new Y design looks powerful and yet gives DOTZ’s first SUV rim a light-footed feel. Delicately converging spoke ends and intentional recesses give it a finely tuned finish. In the “dark” variation in glossy black with a polished flange it enhances the sporty look of large SUVs with an elegant, refined note.
As DOTZ LongBeach black with a glossy black finish, this alloy wheel is also a highlight, emphasising the dynamic look of all mid-sized and very large representatives of the SUV family in dimensions ranging from 9x20 to 10.5x22 inches. Thanks to the included VTA and ECE approvals and high loads of up to 1054kg, this SUV rim is the perfect and simple Plug&Play solution for many models.
