From the “holy” Golf to the 1 Series
As an apprentice at BMW, Martin Arnold developed an interest for snazzy cars from an early age on.
When he was 15 he was content with marvelling at the cool cars in magazines, but soon that didn’t cut it for him anymore.
The moneybag was small and the desires were big. In this situation, a little bit of divine intervention couldn’t hurt. Luck came his way at age 18 when he got hold of an almost “virgin” Golf 4 the previous owner of which had been a nun.
From that moment on he was hooked… the tuning fever had caught up with him.
The Golf became his new hobby, and during long walks with his dog Martin was forging out new plans. All was set for the Golf 4 when his winter car gave up and got replaced with a BMW F20.
This unexpected coincidence opened up new opportunities for Martin, and as a result the Golf remains in the garage until “Lake Wörth calls”.
Even before he could call the “new one” – a 1 Series BMW, since the “Golf class” was still highly appealing – his own, the first performance parts arrived.
In the last two years he has been riding his 1 Series as a safety car. Now he’s upping the colour quotient.
