Summer special
BACK TO OVERVIEWIn this episode, Daniel, Dominic and Christian meet at our DD2.JZ workshop. While they wait for the delivery of the ordered body kit, they reminisce about the project.
During their wait for the body kit, the three make themselves aware of all the milestones they achieved in the last year. Our incredible DD2.JZ project has truly taken shape in the past couple of months. The rebuilding of the engine, together with all the required technical modifications, was completed before the winter break. At the beginning of the year, we handed over our DD2.JZ to ECU-Performance for carrying out a dyno test in addition to an engine tuning. In the first configuration level our 2JZ-GTE engine put out just over 600 hp.
With such a strong front reach, an adequate braking system is a must. Our project partner K-Sport splashed out a sufficiently sized 6-piston caliper on our machine to provide proper delay.
The built-in Wisefab kit enables more extreme drift angles, which is the perfect requirement for breath-taking drift sequences and highest marks on the drift parkour.
The entire interior space was refurbished, too. In addition to the installation of a roll cage by Wiechers, bucket seats by Bride and the 6-point Takata harness, subtle design elements were used in the interior. A number of trim parts were covered with fine Alcantara leather by an upholsterer who employed colour-matching stitch seams.
The recently conducted test ride at the PS Racing Center Greinbach was a great success, with the exception of a small mishap in the end. The powerful Toyota engine is noticeably comfortable in the BMW body, much to the delight of both Daniel and Christian.
As soon as the body kit arrives, the DD2.JZ team will get to work and turn the uncompromising riding machine into a feast for the eyes that will attract eye-popping attention at every tuning show.
