Design in perfection
BACK TO OVERVIEWIn this episode, Dominic and Christian get to work and install the dismantled parts after the recently executed paint finish. Many details are still pending before the duo can showcase our DD2.JZ in its full splendour.
Dominic removes the remaining glue residues on the body which was applied not long ago to install the grid in the body kit intermediate spaces. At the same time, Christian installs the BMW kidneys in black which fit perfectly into the new carbon bumper. The front is slowly taking shape.
The missing diffusor parts are mounted to the rear bumper. After Christian has taken measure, Dominic carefully glues the carbon parts.
Using various wheel spacers, Christian determines the perfect wheel-tyre combination on each axle. The requirements are difficult to implement. On the one hand, the car should exhibit good performance on the circular course and on the other hand, it should hog the limelight on exhibitions in the fully lowered state (Air Lift chassis). The compromise requires a lot of sensitivity and technical know-how.
The assembly of the revitalized headlights is the last working step for today before the DD2.JZ can be admired in its full splendour. The duo can’t wait to drive the machine out of the garage and let the work of art sink in.
