Barely a month left and still lots to do
BACK TO OVERVIEWAfter the most recent and highly masterful video shoot in Italy, the DD2 project is heading straight into the preparations for the Essen Motor Show where our machine will debut for fans and visitors.
In the already 50th episode, Christian and Daniel start to knock the engine bay back into shape. The legendary Toyota Supra engine had been transplanted into the BMW body shell. A couple of beautification measures are yet to be carried out before our project car is unveiled at the Essen Motor Show.Christian and Daniel waste no time and get to work on disassembling the front. In addition to the bumper, headlights and front plate, the duo also dismantles part of the cooling system to allow for the powder coating of various pipes.
The entire front plate goes off again and is worked on by Christian using a disc grinder. The two car enthusiasts plan to adapt the existing charge air piping for which they need more space on the component.
The valve lids of the inline six are also powder coated in order to shine in new splendour at the exhibition. The last task for today is to beautify the makeshift adjusted suspension struts. Christian goes for the disc grinder again, separating the projecting metal from the body. In the next episode, the duo will install the finished parts so as to also spruce up the DD2’s engine bay for Europe’s largest automotive show.
