Episode 22: Off to ECU-Performance
BACK TO OVERVIEWIn this episode, Daniel and Christian are filling in all fluids so that the DD2.JZ is well-prepared to be handed over to ECU-Performance in Leopoldsdorf where a Haltech-engine control will be installed.
The two technicians start with filling the brake system and then bleeding it. A leaking flange inside the fly-off handbrake makes this routine step a tad more difficult for the duo.
After the brake system is properly bled, the clutch is up next. After all, the clutch is also operated hydraulically with brake fluid.
Christian goes through all points once more: Brake fluid and clutch are ready. Cooling system is filled. For the first engine start-up, roughly 6 l of inexpensive 10W40 were filled into the 2JZ GTE. This oil will be replaced with premium 10W60 engine oil shortly after the adjustment. The differential is also filled. The gearbox has been pumped up with Royal Purple Synchromax...
Immediately after its arrival at ECU-Performance, our DD2.JZ is examined carefully. Christian and Daniel hand over the car to the experts on-site and explain a few more details. The first engine start-up is getting closer and closer.
