Episode 24: DD2.JZ put to the performance test
BACK TO OVERVIEWAfter a brief winter break, we are back with another eventful episode. Our DD2.JZ is with ECU-Performance in Leopoldsdorf for the installation of a Haltech control unit and a new adjustment. The final dyno test confirms that the recently re-built 2JZ-GTE has quite a lot of power.
Before our DD2.JZ undergoes the performance test, engineer Thomas Biegler and Roman Kaps (owner ECU-Performance) hand over the car to Christian. In addition to the complete engine wiring, the two professionals have performed a new adjustment, running the car for the first time since the engine installation.
The first dyno run can start.
In a first trial, our DD2.JZ has a rear wheel output of 587 hp and a torque of 685 nM.
Roman still carries out a few small changes in an effort to tickle out one or another hp. Unbelievable! 608 hp and a torque of 692 Nm. We’re are overjoyed. After transferring the DD2.JZ to the DOTZ premises, the powerhouse is admired by a few employees. With so much power, enough attention must be given to the braking system. To this end, in the next episode, K-Sport will drop in and install an adequate braking system in our DD2.JZ.
