DD2.JZ Bye bye, cable spaghetti
BACK TO OVERVIEWThe inside of our DD2.JZ suffers from cable spaghetti syndrome. Christian and Daniel take care of the loose cables, fitting them properly in the interior space. At the same time, equipped with a diagnostic tester, Daniel tries to find out why the electric power steering isnÃt functioning.
After the two technicians de-installed the entire interior space in the last episode, the insides of our DD2.JZ are a wild sight. The mat and the seats were dismantled to weld the safety cell. The many loose cables still need to be fitted properly.
Christian promptly gets to work and sorts out the chaos. The cables for the Haltech dashboard and the launch control switch as well as the cable for the Air Ride System control are to be fitted into the cockpit of our DD2.JZ, in a way that is both nice to look at and functional. In the meantime, Daniel analyses the functionless electric power steering. After a brief search, he finds the engine that has been refusing to work ever since the engine rebuild.
Daniel connects his diagnostic computer with our DD2.JZ to locate the steering problem. Sadly, without success. Since almost the entire car electronic system was removed during the engine rebuild, the error search proves rather difficult.
At the end of this day, our eyes feast on the absence of cable spaghetti. The control for the Haltech instrument combo and the launch control switch are installed within driver’s reach. The operation of the Air Ride System is now also powered and firmly fixed to the dashboard. In the next episode, the duo is going to weld the safety cell in the passenger space and position the Bride bucket seats. Stay tuned!
