DD1 is back
BACK TO OVERVIEWHe's back: the DOTZ BMW DD1 has not only a new look but also new custom wheels. And he has something else in petto.
Once upon a time: the DOTZ BMW DD1 was presented to the public in November 2012 at Essen Motor Show. Ahead of it we invested manpower and driftpower. The original purpose of the BMW´s life: the spectacular Gymkhana Street vs. Air Battle DOTZ Kings of Sideways.
For this purpose DD1 rider Dominic Tiroch took the 550hp racing car and measured it in a battle of another kind with the Red Bull Air Race pilot Hannes Arch and his 400hp Zivko Edge. Tiroch and Arch showed us some incredible stunts with their driving and flying skills. More than half a million times the video has been clicked on the net.
Upon conclusion of the Kings of Sideways project and the DD1 World Tour, which brought the BMW halfway around the world to tuning and motorsport events, the DD1 has entered a new stage.
Partner Foliatec brought his carbody spray film into use. After all we didn´t want to lose that distinctive handmade airbrush of the DD1. The film can be removed without residue.
In addition to the foiling the DD1 received a number of top quality carbon parts: the bonnet, the BMW signature kidney, a trunk lid and side mirrors have been replaced by carbon.
But also under the hood some changes have been made. By larger injectors, new mapping and increased boost pressure the performance was enhanced up to 680 hp.
And finished is the DD1, perfectly redesigned from a spectacular drifter into an aggressive street racer.
Definitely the highlight of the new outfit: the new DOTZ Revvo rim. It combines with an innovative design concept a concave cross-spoke with a deep dish. In developing the DOTZ Revvo much emphasis was placed on extreme weight optimization. Amongst many others this is achieved by the backcut of the spokes.
Another feature of the rim: the contrast of the bronze-colored spokes with the polished deep dish and the ornamental screws.
The DD1, which was also piloted by members of the Red Bull Speedgang, is therefore well looked after with the fitment 8.5x20” and 9.5x20”.
Partner Vredestein equipped the project vehicle with high-performance tires in size 225/30 R20 front and 265/30 R20 back.
Additionally to bronze the Revvo is also available in the color version gunmetal (DOTZ Revvo dark).
So the BMW is ready for a new adventure after his optical reconstruction and performance increase.
