True Love
BACK TO OVERVIEWDominik Lechner's passion for cars runs in his blood, having had a clear vision of once owning a VW Corrado ever since he was a little boy. He was so certain of it that he couldn't even wait until his 18th birthday. At the age of 16, while he didn't yet have a driving licence, he had saved enough money to buy a Corrado G60, built in 1990 - a car that, for many, is one of the dream cars of the 90s.
“The car then sat with me for four years”, says Dominik. “The first tuning part the Corrado got was the rims. They were DOTZ Revvo in 7.5x17, ET35.” After the car sat around for four years, Dominik got to work – and hardly left a stone unturned.
“To this day, I still really love the rim design,” he says, nonetheless carrying out a few modifications. “I had the wheel star painted white, and the decorative bolts and centre caps in salmon red”, explains Dominik, “which, I guess, made this set of wheels one of a kind.”
By the way, anyone can have their desired DOTZ rims powder-coated or specially painted.

But back to Dominik:
He turned his passion into a profession and trained as an automotive technician, spending nine long months restoring the Corrado from scratch to match his exact wishes and ideas. Among other things, he installed a KW coilover suspension and a full exhaust system from Friedrich Motorsport.
For an even juicier look, he added a 1-centimetre wheel spacer, an “angry look” with angel eyes headlights, Hella fog light covers, and fenders from the VR6. And as the finishing touch, he hand-painted the G60 in salmon red in a self-built paint booth.
You can watch the conversion on YouTube. If you're interested in a summary of all modifications, click here, and perhaps you'll even get some new ideas yourself: “With this project, I wanted to inspire others and show them that you can carry out a project like this on your own, even without extensive prior knowledge or a fully equipped workshop.”
Dominik has since combined his two passions and now showcases his projects as an independent content creator on YouTube.
The DOTZ Revvo is no longer available, which makes it even more of a unicorn. However, more exciting designs are introduced every year.
You can easily and conveniently “try on” which design suits your car best using the DOTZ 3D rim configurator.
