Harbour tour in Rijeka

Here is a new trend for tuning events: a relaxed atmosphere without any competition pressure. This could not be practiced any better than at a Mediterranean beach, as was the case at the Seaside Stance in Rijeka in mid-August.
The participants of the Seaside Stance premiere, for which the tuners had to apply with their cars, were not only from Croatia but also the surrounding countries, such as this visitor from Austria proved with an Audi RS4.
The precious metals blended in well between yachts, promenade cafés and harbour buildings.
The chilled-out vibe of the entire event was also reflected in the relaxed presence of the Criminal’s Clique, the event organisers.
One of the most popular exhibits at the beach was this Porsche 964.
The Criminal’s Clique happily welcomed the gems that found their way to Rijeka.
The model, which was sold as the 911 model in the late 1980s, was promoted as a “family car” – and why was that? Because it enabled its owners extended breakfast times and getting back home faster in the evening.
The first one featuring all-wheel drive, light-metal chassis and MacPherson springs…
...as well as double ignition became some sort of a lifeline for Porsche which had slid into a crisis prior to the 964-model launch.
In an attempt to break up the tranquil Mediterranean atmosphere at the Seaside Stance...
...burnout performances were carried out at the promenade.
The drag racing practice...
...as was also the case in Rijeka...
...fascinated dozens of visitors.
The most dominant manufacturer country at the Seaside Stance was Germany, as Mercedes and…
...VW proved with a Golf 5 GTI.
Far-East products also found their way to the Mediterranean, such as this Honda NSX.
Back to Germanic art of engineering: a particularly fine example of a VW Golf 5 GTI.
This Audi also caused quite the sensation with its chassis.
Another Golf 5 GTI with eye-catching wheel wells.
The organisers themselves also contributed some eye candy: a Golf 6 R.
This Golf 5 R32, in turn, borrows from the very great or should we say, the very fast, as it is fitted with Ferrari rims.
And yet another Golf 5 GTI, this time featuring a sport chassis with extreme values.
And finally, another visitor from Austria: an Audi Coupé, the small brother of the legendary Quattro.
