The DOTZ year 2016 started with a bomb effect: the DD1, which toured around the world and participated in drift and show races, was rebuilt. He got high-quality carbon parts, larger injection nozzles and a pressure boost to build the engine up to 680 hp. The tires were mounted on a DOTZ Revvo. Also the DD1 was the main actor in a Touge driftrace on an Austrian alpine road.
From the alps we went to the lake in May. The GTI meeting at Lake Wörthersee was once again the meeting point for tuning fans from all over Europe. 100,000 came to Carinthia to visit at the DOTZ booth, but also to see an Audi TTS from Muggianu Turbo with a DOTZ Revvo dark and 379 turbocharged-horses.
Immediately afterwards the Audi TT by Tom Havertz was in the spotlight. The coupe, equipped with a standard 200 hp engine, shines with black-painted single-frame front and a DOTZ Revvo 8.5x20 in bronze.
Next station: Berlin. In and around the Olympiastadion in June some 1,200 chrome jewels were presented to the trained tuning eyes of the visitors of XS Carnight. At the Carnight, which has developed out of a meeting at a parking lot, the visitors exchange about current tuning trends.
DOTZ is now a long-term sponsoring partner at the King of Europe drift series. The Hungarian Adam Kerenyi, several times champion, was able to finish the series in the year 2016 despite numerous problems with his around 700 hp strong BMW E36 on the very good third place.
In the summer, we also introduced the BMW M2 Coupé from Stefan. The sporty Bayer with its six-cylinder and 370 hp is particularly noticeable for its aggressive look: the front fenders are more than five, and the rear axle even eight centimeters wider than the standard 2-Series Coupé. Beneath the massive fenders are the front and rear axles of the BMW M3 and M4, which have largely been taken over unchanged.
The report about the Supra JZA80 by Herbert Hamal also received much attention in the tuning scene. The self-import - built in 1993 - was painted in Midnight Club Pearl and refined with a 19 inch DOTZ Revvo. The drive was screwed up to 300 hp with a new intake system and larger petrol pump.
In September, Dotz mother Alcar then introduced the Saltlab. In this virtual lab you can choose from three unusual hardening tests to find out to which challenges aluminium rims are exposed in the cold season.
Immediately afterwards, DOTZ first presented a frost-resistant rim: the DOTZ Kendo. Inspired by Japanese swordsmanship, the SR3 matt black finish offers the best conditions for winter use.
And another new design: the DOTZ SP5. The three-dimensional look of the rim is created by the geometric shapes applied to the spokes, which give the wheel a second, highly technical effect. The bonds for the special shape of the SP5 comes from the latest US rim trends.
The SP5 also had a phenomenal appearance: mounted on the DD1 the visitors of the Essen Motor Show were able to admire the rim. The car was the promo car at the booth of the King of Europe drift series in Essen.
The year ended with two highlights from the screw-driver scene: on the one hand the Golf 4 R32 from Dominik Pruss. A Drivetech Airride chassis, a Bastuck exhaust system, the DOTZ Kendo dark and around 270 hp ensure that some necks are aligned.
On the other hand an A4 estate with 3.0 liter TDI engine by Martin Postl. A lowtec coilover, a new engine with 290 hp improved by software updates and a new exhaust system, and the DOTZ Revvo black in 8.5x20 make the family coach a trendy showcar.
These were the highlights of the Dotz year - 2017 again, spectacular vehicle conversions, new video projects and high-class tuning events are waiting. In this sense, DOTZ wishes all readers and fans happy holidays and Happy New Year.
